Kahovka tournament (a championship of Ukraine)

Ok, sorry for such a late updating – I’ve been enormously busy at my studies.
So, we’ve returned from the tournament in Nova Kahovka (it’s a very small town on the South of Ukraine) and I may say that archers of Kyiv can be proud of their results! Dmitry Lvovskyy and I established a record of Ukraine in mixed teams shooting – we made 155 points in the final duel (of the possible 160) with -4 points in the last end because of a sudden lateral wind.
Olympic round results are also good: Denis Mykhalchuk took the first place in junior men category, Dmitry Lvovskyy took the second place in men category, and I also got the 2nd place in women category. Kyiv compound men team became the first, so I think that results of this tournament are very good.
Instead of results the weather wasn’t so good: sometimes we had to shoot in strong sudden winds and under the rain. It was very cold there, too.
You will find the photos from the tournament here http://enjoy-archery.blogspot.com/2011/04/blog-post_16.html. It was very funny there and we had a good time.

shooting in the forest

At last! I had my first training at 30 and 50 m in this year! For those, who doesn’t know, I remind that we had a great summer range in the centre of Kyiv, but our officials took it away to build there a helicopter platform. That is why all archers of our city have no place to shoot (in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine!).

Anyway, I was lucky today. My father had helped me to arrange few blocks of foam at the nearest forest not far from our summer cottage. Thanks to this I had a good training at 30 and 50m. Well, it was great! I really enjoyed my training.

It’s so nice to shoot in the forest. The air is so clean. There’s nobody around. Birds sing their songs. And i… shoot at 50 meters. I wish I could train here every day.

it's so quiet here

nice to meet you :)

Hi. My name is Dina. I’m a compound archer from Ukraine. I live and shoot in Kyiv. I’m the member of Ukrainian national team. I love everything connected with archery, I enjoy this sport so much! I’ve been shooting since 2005. At first, I was a recurve shooter, but at the beginning of the 2010 year I’ve switched to a compound.
I study at Kyiv polytechnic university (my specialty is printing, but I am sorry to say that I don’t really like it and want to work in quite another field) and going to get my master’s degree this summer. I work as a freelance translator in few companies; this helps me to participate in archery tournaments.
During my first year of shooting with a compound I’ve faced a lot of problems: a target panic, a bow breakage, lack of money and so on. But I didn’t compromise and now I have better and continuously growing results in compound, and I’m not going to stop. Now I’m #2 archer in Ukrainian ranking, and I thank all my friends, my family and my coach who have helped me to achieve this. I love archery and now I really enjoy it. That is why my blog is called “enjoy archery”.
So, welcome! I’m so glad to see you here. I wish you all the best! Good shooting and great results. Enjoy archery :)
